Admission for the concert is free for the participants; for non-participants the ticket is 700 Ft which includes the cave trip.

In the framework of the conference we enable the participants to visit the most significant caves of the area. For visiting the caves listed below previous registration is needed.

For those who do not attend the conference but  would join the cave trips should register as Tourist participant .

Szemlő-hegy Cave

Show cave part: in regular clothing, with electric illumination. Duration: 40 minutes.

Pál-völgy Cave

1. Show cave part: in regular clothing, with electric lighting. Because of ladders built in it is not recommended for small children, old people or for people with physical disabilities. Duration: 40 minutes.

2. Big circle: formations decorated part of the cave which was discovered after 1981; medium difficult crowling and climbing. Basic cave gear is needed. Only electric light is allowed. Duration: app. 3 hours.

3. ’Jubileum’ part: This is the recently discovered part which is rich in the most beautiful formations. Difficult climbing and crowling involved, at more difficult parts ladders and ropes are built in. Basic cave gear is needed. Only electric light is allowed. Duration: app. 5 hours.

Ferenc-hegy Cave

This cave has typical hydrothermal formations. Medium difficult trip. asic cave gear is needed. Only electric light is allowed. Duration: app. 3 hours.

Mátyás-hegy Cave

Not reach in speleothem but has interesting shapes. Easy trip. Basic cave gear is needed. Only electric light is allowed. Duration: 2 hours.

Devil’s Hole of Solymár

Interesting and diversified shapes. Easy trip (at more difficult parts ladder and ropes are built in). Basic cave gear is needed. Duration: 2 hours. (Travelling time: 30 min. each way)

 

 

 

 

 

Sátorkő-puszta Cave

Typical hydrothermal cave (spherical cavity) with gypsum concretion. Access is slightly difficult, ladders and ropes are built in. Basic cave gear is needed. Additional electric light is needed to the cave’s basic illumination. Duration: 1-1,5 hours (Travelling time: 1 hour each  way)

 

 

 

 

József-hegy Cave

J

 

The most beautiful and the richest cave in Budapest. Access is limited because of its vulnerable nature. Basic cave gear is needed. Only electric light is allowed. Duration: app. 2 hours.

 

 

 

Molnár János Cave

Cave diving in the largest hydrothermal underwater cave of the world. Own equipment is needed. We ensure air or nitrox filling.

CAVE DAY

Meeting of Hungarian cavers

June 25-27, Budapest, Pál-völgy Quarry

Programs: cave trips, cave competition, presentation of the Hungarian Cave Rescue Team, slide and video show, camp-fire, diner at Saturday

Accomodation in own tents (for request we can book other form of accomodation see at the conference registration form)

Registration fee: 50 Euro, includes speleo-camp, diner, participation at the above mentioned prog-ramme, T-shirt, postcard with cave stamp. Can be payed on the site.
